Nursing students may request transfer of credit for courses completed at other accredited institutions prior to enrollment at Saint Xavier University. Subject to faculty approval, a maximum of 6 credit hours of non-clinical courses earned elsewhere may be accepted toward completion of graduate degree requirements in nursing. This request must be made formally in writing after the student is admitted into the graduate program. See the Saint Xavier University graduate academic catalog for further details.
The faculty believe that the art of nursing is as important as the science of nursing and are committed to understanding, developing, and evaluating clinical competency. The curriculum is carefully crafted to provide students both traditional and alternative pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning. Interprofessional relationships with the School of Medicine and the Physician Associate program offer students opportunities to learn with their colleagues in a truly collaborative environment. We also use resources such as the Yale Center for British Art and the Yale School of Music to enhance observational and auscultative abilities.
